Re: Logistics of the OS
Left the bobby more stand head right towards the red monstrosoty tower cut down through carpenters estate and was in the queens head in west ham lane 18 mins after leaving my seat. Had 2 pints and walked through the stratford centre and straight on to sn empty central line 1 1/2 hrs after the game finished, walked through my front door 20mins later.

Couldnt have gone any better to be honest

Re: Logistics of the OS
good job I said 45 and not 5 then, Pilk0 son?

Granted, I never went from UP station, but them's the facts. It's fucking hideous. Hopefully Kent cunts like yourself will find another way back to your cesspit

'5 minutes longer to get home than it did from UP'

Chinny reckon

Re: Logistics of the OS
Didn't really go swimmingly.

Access and travel to the place is a fucking nightmare to be honest.

Hopefully it'll calm down when people who are able to start using alternative routes, but it took me 45 minutes longer to get home than it did from UP despite living 7 stops away on the central line.

Well don't I feel stupid (not for the first time... today)

Apparently it went swimmingly.

I stand corrected.

Long may it continue.

Jimbo2, doesn't the Greenway close after a certain time in the evening or is it always open?

Re: Logistics of the OS
PML is open, the issue is access to the ground. There's two ways out; one to Stratford High Street which is open as usual, the other to the stadium which is limited due to building works. You can still use that route, but it is more long-winded than it will be when the building work is complete.

PML it is then, see you in The Little Driver or Bow Bells

TFL's upcoming station closure document makes no mention of Pudding Mill Lane.

Re: Logistics of the OS
I went to the TFL journey planner website... selected Bow Church to PML to arrive at 6pm tomorrow..... seems very much open - usually the tfl site is spot on with closures and re-routes etc.

Re: Logistics of the OS
Although the Greenway is closed near to the stadium, it's quite easy to pick it up near the Bow flyover & walk to West Ham station. I did exactly this a couple of weeks ago. It's about a 20-25 min walk & Stratford, with no queues, takes maybe 10 mins!

Re: Logistics of the OS
As Johnson said, "not recommended" probably means "lying about it being shut".

Cheers Cough

makes life easier if boozing in Bow, just one stop on the DLR

Far Cough 5:37 Wed Aug 3
Re: Logistics of the OS
I don't think it's shut, it's not being recommended until Crossrail is finished?

Do you know if PML station is definitely open tomorrow that pdf is saying it's shut?

Re: Logistics of the OS
I reckon some bright spark should do a 'pub map'!!

That would be a useful thing to have. I have got a feeling it's gonna take a while to get our match day routines in order.

Gotta say, I am excited to find out what the new stadium is gonna be like.

Re: Logistics of the OS
Yeah the last few hundred yards of the Greenway are and have been shut for ages, I've got a half day so might use it for some pre pub exercise tomorrow

Don't forget the DLR at West Ham and buses too,

The Greenway is closed nearer the ground because of Crossrail works apparently. I am considering that route on the way home long term though.

Re: Logistics of the OS
If you're coming by District ways then I suppose you could go to Bow Road and get the DLR... but if you're getting the C2C that would still probably involve changing at West Ham (or maybe Barking).

On evening games that'll be quite funny too considering the amount of people using West Ham to change between District/Jubilee/C2C on their way home.

Re: Logistics of the OS
West Ham Station is busy rush hours anyway and Stratford is even busier.

different rail routes, thought the club would praise this up say its a 10 min walk on the Greenway !

Might do the walk tomorrow weather looks ok

GRiM71 3:27 Wed Aug 3
Re: Logistics of the OS
According to the map:

West Ham Station will be extremely busy on match days and it is advised that supporters find alternative direct routes to Stratford Station

Not exactly selling this to us are they!
